And now here I am, sat in front of my keyboard in my new room that has a few posters on the walls; one of a lady playing the cello taken from the guardian, plus a Gertrude stein poster (say what), a painting I did at “art school”, a map of Berlin, a few alive flowers plus some dried/dead ones, four guitars and a glitter ball… I’m so hip it hurts. Currently I’m trying to write songs on the piano, even though I can’t play the piano and Lo and Behold after 3 years of supporting myself as a musician I am now a singer/songwriter/ bar tender… triple threat. Also I got an iPhone.

That’s me pretty much up to date, now for future things. This Sunday I’m playing at Green Note in Camden, it’s my show so would be great to see some faces, you can get tickets here or on the door and it really is a nice venue, I’m not just saying that. Then I’m going off on tour with Mr Colin Vearncombe in April and starting this new EP which will include this and this plus some other stuff I’ve been working on.

I’m sorry this is only brief but I’ve just got to the last episode of Breaking Bad Season 4… some of you will understand.

So, I solemnly swear to keep you more up to date and post more photo’s now I have an iPhone (really want to change my facebook relationship status to “in a complicated relationship with my iPhone). Really ecited about this new EP, Sunday and the following tour. Hope to catch some of you on the road.

New Years Message.

So, here we are in 2013, and I’m so glad to meet it. I’m not one for Christmas much, but I love the New Year; sitting with friends and family reminiscing on the trials and tribulations of the previous year and reflecting on what we’d like to achieve on the fresh page of the next 365 days. My new years resolution is to tell the truth so I felt I would write a message to you all to tell you a little bit more about what’s happening in my world.

The last year was a pretty tough one; I came across many challenges and some disappointments, but equally enjoyed so many opportunities, played some amazing shows, visited some new countries, and met some amazing people and artists and in the spirit of embracing a new year I have decided to release my record Bedroom Hero. I finished the making of this album in March 2011, so a pretty long time ago. I faced some really tough obstacles and there were times when it looked like I would never be able to released this album. In this respect it is with pride that I say, here is my work, I want you to listen to it, and I want you to pay what you like for it. It’s up to you now. I am eternally grateful for the support from all of you who are reading this, every message, like, applause, retweet, email, comment, hand shake, hug, has got me to this point and I (without being cliché) couldn’t have got here without you and that love. So please help me in my endeavor to release more records, and continue touring and doing the thing that I love. Spread the news that Bedroom Hero is out on bandcamp till the end of the month, it’s pay what you like, so that is from zero to a million (if you would be so kind). After January the album will go to itunes and the usual places, but I want people to get their ears around it now and the only way they are going to know about it is you… no pressure.

Through January I will be doing my Bedroom tour, February and March bring lots of UK gig dates and in April I am going in to the studio to record a brand spanking new EP and I can tell you I am excited about that. Please let me know what you think of the Album, I finished it when I was 20 and now I’m the grand old age of 22 so any feedback is much appreciated.

Before I bore you to tears I will sign off, but this is my new year letter to you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for even reading this far, but mostly for your support which fuels me everyday. This year is going to be a cracker and I won’t let you down. I wish you luck in all of your 2013 adventures, do what you love, face the fear, live in the moment and be kind.

So..

This week we have on the cards, a recording session with 1Take TV, a writing session with my new writing Pal Richard Frenneaux formally of the Red Light Company, sick band, check them out. I have also a show supporting Karima Fracis on Wednesday in Totnes, this is where I went for a brief spat of art education before throwing it all under the horses for the bright lights of the Well Street Fish and Chip shop and a window view of James Hawes Funeral directors. Then on Friday I am playing at the Wee Glee Club in Nottingham, and hoping someone nice will let me sleep on their couch. I won’t give away much more, i’ll tweet about it.

I’m sat in my flat, avoiding any contact with the outside world. Until it stops raining, I’m on strike. But the good news is, I’ve been driven to blogging. So, what’s been happening… Well, I got struck by lighting in Zurich, not a direct hit, but a little too close for comfort. However, it was a beautiful show, playing on the lake at Seebad Enge. Monday, we’ll be releasing a free download of a new track called “Hold On” an upbeat track in tempo with attempted optimistic lyric, on the subject of heart break. So, wow, it’s nearly May already, where is the year going? This last week of rain has been a double edged sword for me, on the one hand I’ve been playing lots of guitar, amongst other things: Mandola (aptly named Nelson, witty yes), Ukelele and a bit of Electro mixing. But on the other hand I bought a beautiful bike that I haven’t been able to spend much time with.

Anyway, this last month I have mostly been off in Ireland plugging my new album that has been released out there. Me, Harry and Fraser played a wonderful show at Whelan’s in Dublin to a fantastic crowd, my mum came down and i think it’s fair to say, had one too many Gin’s. We’re just getting together plans to come back and do regional dates around the summer, including the Westport Festival on the 24th June.

Today my debut album “Bedroom Hero” came out in the Republic of ireland!! super cool. Harry and I did a pre-record for Pat Kenny this morning which will be aired on RTE1 on monday the 9th of April, then we headed off for a little show at Tower Records in Dublin which was lovely. I’m now sat in my hotel room trying to take a photo of myself with the record for my friend Rachael and for anyone else who unfortunately  happens to be looking at my website..

So pleased it’s out in Ireland and can’t wait to get the EP out in May in the UK and for the rest of the world.

So, Harry and I were all set to fly to Dublin yesterday, but alas, the Pat Kenny interview has been moved to later this week, so after various amounts of Monday morning faff we’re now heading for the fair city of Dublin on Thursday for the in-store at Tower Records (wicklow street) on Friday at 1pm, to launch the album off on it’s voyage.. yes, the album is out on Friday in Ireland! Very exciting, come and celebrate with me on the 11th of April at Whelan’s in Dublin.

Also, had the pleasure of supporting Chris Rea a few weekends ago in Belfast and Dublin, all on my own in front of a whole lot of people, was really amazing though, and Christ Rea can sure play that guitar. Really digging Jake Bugg, played a show with him in Birmingham last week and think he’s proper.. check this out here:
